Maria checked her watch as she hurried down the pavement, trying in vain to avoid the puddles left by the morning rainstorm. She had 10 minutes before she had to be back at work, and decided that she just had time to nip into the bank, her last chance before the weekend. As she opened the door she groaned at the length of the queue, and tapped her foot impatiently as she waited her turn.

At last a cashier was free, and she was called to the desk.

'We have a special deal this week for our most valued customers', the cashier said, after Maria had finished her transaction, 'we can do a really good deal on cheap life insurance, and you get the first month absolutely free'. She had been meaning to sort something out for ages, but really didn't have the time. She arranged an appointment for the following week, and hurried on her way to work as a general shop assistant in the local grocery store.

She told her best friend and work colleague, Amy, about the cheap life insurance in the afternoon tea break. 'Bob and I have been meaning to insure ourselves for ages' Amy said, 'especially since we had the kids, it'll be interesting to see what they have to offer, you'll have to let me know how you get on'.

She didn't mind so much when she saw the queue this time, they were expecting her after all, and she only had to wait a couple of minutes for her appointment. There was an insurance specialist in the bank, and Maria felt comfortable straight away. She was really pleased with the figures that the bank put together for her, the banks cheap life insurance saved her almost £50 from anything that she had found online. Happily, she signed on the dotted line, and before she left, she made an appointment for the next day for her friend Amy, as she had promised.
